Centre for Social Comparative Law

The creation of the Center for Social Comparative Law within the Law School was the result of the co-operation agreement between the Bucharest University and the University of Montesquieu – Bordeaux IV following the efforts and interest manifested by the Private law Department of our School.

The Center is mainly dedicated to fostering common research programs in social law-related matters, to organizing colloquia, scientific meetings and sessions on labour law and social security, extending exchanges of academic staff on teaching and research-related matters, and, as a general rule, exchanges between the two Universities.

The Center for Social Comparative Law of the University of Montesquieu – Bordeaux IV was instrumental in establishing a library which holds treaties, monographs, and law collections, collections of French and European social case law.

We co-operate with the French Center to organize periodic scientific communication sessions on labour law and social security and also on topics pertaining to civil and commercial law which have an impact on social law; the papers presented during these sessions are published both in French and Romanian, as a volume on the proceedings of each and every session.   Î
