Recruitment - British Law Center Diploma 2019-2020
The British Law Centre at Bucharest University, is recruiting for the
2019-2020 Diploma in English Law & Practical Legal Skills. The Diploma is organised by an educational charity (JAS) based at the University of Cambridge, Faculty of
Law. Its members include Lord Carnwath of the UK’s Supreme Court and other
distinguished members of the judiciary and academia. Its Academic Committee is
presided over by Professor Richard Fentiman of the Faculty of Law at Cambridge
University (formerly Faculty Dean). Participants of the Diploma course study
core issues of English law (including contract law, torts and trusts) and build
a portfolio of practical legal skills (including case management, legal
writing, contract drafting, oral advocacy and others). The Diploma is taught at
Bucharest University during 8 monthly teaching visits (each lasting approx. 4-6
hours, not including extra, voluntary activities). The course materials are
prepared by experts in their respective fields, including academic staff from
Cambridge University and other leading UK Universities. The materials and
course teachers are also available via a dedicated course website. All teaching
is conducted in English in a very practical and interactive manner.
