Invitation to the 6th edition of the conference and moot court on arbitration and international commercial contracts (March 1-3, Bucharest)

The University of Bucharest and the Vindobona Association for the Promotion of Arbitration in Romania have the honor of inviting you to Bucharest, on March 1-3, 2019, to the 6th edition of the international conference in the field of arbitration and international commercial contracts and of the Bucharest Pre-Moot competition. The event will take place at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest, 36-46 Mihail Kogălniceanu Blvd, Bucharest, 050107, Romania.

The international conference on Friday, March 1, 2019, will start at 17:30, in Amphitheatre AII “Nicolae Titulescu”. The conference will take place in English. The topics that will be addressed during the conference are:

·         Arbitration Agreements: Formation and Interpretation (17:45 – 18:30)

The pre-moot that will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, 2019, is based on the problem used for the 2019 edition of the Willem Vis moot (available, together with the analysis for arbitrators at: https://vismoot.pace.edu/site/26th-vis-moot/the-problem), and has the purpose of preparing the students for participation in the Willem Vis moot, the largest and most prestigious private law competition in the world. The Willem Vis moot takes place annually in Hong Kong and Vienna (April 2019). Over 400 universities from all over the world participate annually in the Willem Vis Moot, including the most prestigious universities worldwide.

Specifically, the Bucharest Pre-Moot will consist of pleading rounds between the students of the following 16 universities from 10 countries: Heinrich Heine University (Germany), Manheim University (Germany) Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Germany), Sofia University – St. Kliment Ohridski (Bulgaria), Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (Italy), University of Pavia (Italy), Trieste University (Italy), Kutafin Moscow State Law University (Russia), Maastricht University (The Netherlands), Jagiellonian University (Poland), Bilgi University (Turkey), Stockholm University (Sweden), Moldova State University (Republic of Moldova), Nicolae Titulescu University (Romania), University of Craiova (Romania) and University of Bucharest (Romania). The awards and closing ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 3, at 14:00.
