Outlooks on the European Union system of fundamental rights protection - Lupu Andrei-Răzvan
Abstract: The european legal order aims to an increasingly larger set of social relations. But any legitimate legal order has to be based on a well-developed system of human and fundamental rights protection. What is the current state of the system of protection of European citizens’ rights and liberties? which are its shortcomings? and, most importantly, which are its prospects for development? This paper’s goal is to give a clear answer to these questions, imagining at the same time a change in the European institutional architecture that may lead to a new perception of fundamental rights protection systems.

Key-words: human rights, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, European Court of Justice, european constitutionalism.
