Part III

Corneliu-Liviu POPESCU, Ph.D. in Law, Professor, Case-law of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2005 concerning the execution of the final judgments adopted by the European Court of Human Rights in cases against Romania
By exercising its role of supervision body of execution of the European Court of Human Rights judgments, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has adopted, in 2005, two interim resolutions regarding the execution by Romania of the final judgments. The Committee of Ministers ascertains that Romania has executed, in due time, the obligation of payment of the just satisfaction. On the contrary, regarding the general measures, meant to prevent new similar violations, an interim resolution of the Committee of Ministers ascertains the legislative and case-law evolution, whereas through the other interim resolution, the Committee of Ministers, taking into consideration a legislative evolution, considered insufficient, invites the Romanian authorities to rapidly adopt the necessary legislative reforms.
